Kicker accepts invited walk-on

Mitchell Wasson, kicker from Lassiter High School in Marietta in Ga., accepted an invited walk-on position at Alabama on Tuesday evening. He was also invited to walk-on at Georgia.

"I made the decision today," said Wasson. "I called Coach Williams about 10-15 minutes ago. He was excited. He can't wait to have me. He was going to call Coach Saban and let him know."

"It's awesome to be committed to Alabama. I am very excited. I am ready to dominate and make a name for myself there."

Wasson fell in love with the Crimson Tide a few years ago.

"I fell in love with Alabama at a kicking camp a few years ago," he said. "It was my dream school. I wanted to play there. I worked hard and now I am going there."

He was in Tuscaloosa last weekend for an unofficial visit.

"They took me through a tour, and through the campus," Wasson said. "I loved it. The campus is a lot nicer than everywhere else. They have nicer facilities and better everything. It's a great school."
