Kansas State guard Selton Miguel commits to South Florida

TAMPA, Fla., (Apr. 23, 2022) – South Florida landed a commitment from Kansas State guard Selton Miguel Saturday while hosting two other transfer portal targets on official visits.

Miguel made the announcement via Instagram and confirmed with BullsInsider.com via text message.

“Yes sir,” he texted about committing to the Bulls. “Coming to change the culture.”

Miguel went on to talk about how he knew USF was the best place for him.

“I just thought it was the best decision to make because those coaches know how impactful I can be both on and off the court to the team. They wanted me to come to be that man.”


The 6-foot-4 Miguel, from Luanda, Angola, by way of West Oaks Academy (Orlando, Florida), averaged 7.2 points and 4.0 rebounds in 26 games this past season with 14 starts. He also averaged 7.2 points and 3.1 rebounds as a freshman while starting 22 games.

He was the first K-State player to enter the transfer portal since Jerome Tang was hired to replace retiring Bruce Weber as the Wildcats head coach.

Miguel joins two three-star high school signees Ryan Conwell and Dok Muordar in Brian Gregory's 2022 recruiting class.

USF assistant coach Louis Rowe led the Bulls recruitment of Miguel.
