Five-star Lafayette (La.) St. Thomas More quarterback Walker Howard returned to practice on Monday, just four weeks removed from a KNEE/LEG injury that sidelined the state champion each of the past three games.

After suffering the injury on Oct. 1 at Ruston, Howard told Rivals he could be back in time for a state championship game. The Louisiana Division II state championship game is set to be played on Dec. 11 at Louisiana's campus in Lafayette.

Howard fractured his left fibula on the road the injury came with a four-to-six timeline for a return. This week mark's just more than a month since Howard suffered the left leg injury.

Entering October, the LSU-committed signal-caller completed 100-of-175 passes (57 percent) for 1,391 yards, 13 touchdowns compared to two interceptions. Last year, Howard directed St. Thomas More to a perfect season culminating in a LHSAA Division II state championship.
