Marlon's father Bobby Humphrey was an All-American running back at Alabama in the late 1980s before going on to play five seasons in the NFL with the Denver Broncos and Miami Dolphins.
Humphrey, a 6-foot-1, 175-pounder who also stars in track, is the top-rated player in the state of Alabama and the No. 9 overall player in the nation for the Class of 2014. Alabama and Florida State were considered his two leaders followed by Mississippi State and UCLA.
"It was fun getting a chance to know some of these coaches from schools all around...but I'm just happy it's all over," Marlon Humphrey tweeted.
Humphrey led Hoover to an undefeated season and the Class 6A title in 2013.
Humphrey will give Alabama two five-star cornerbacks - joining current UA enrollee Tony Brown - and five overall five-stars in the Class of 2014. With a week left before national signing day, Humphrey is the 25th commitment in Alabama's class.
Hoover High head coach Josh Niblett congratulated Humphrey on his commitment on Twitter soon after the announcement.
