Mohamoud Diabate, four-star linebacker from Auburn High School in Alabama, returned to Tuscaloosa for the Crimson Tide's A-Day on Saturday. He received a scholarship offer from the national champions a few months ago.

Alabama has enjoyed success from two former Auburn High School stars who played linebacker in Tuscaloosa with Butkus Award winner Reuben Foster and potential 2018 first round draft pick Rashaan Evans.

"The visit was great," Diabate said. "What stood out to me was the energy in the stadium.

"What stands out to me right now about Alabama is the staff including the strength and conditioning coaches. Also the doctors."

Alabama is focusing more on in-state talent in the 2019 class. The Crimson Tide is pursuing Diabate as one of its top linebacker targets.

"I spoke with Coach Lupoi, Coach Gattis and Coach Saban," he said. "They were just telling me how they really want me to come play for them. They said they feel like I have the tools to be successful there."

Diabate will take his time and enjoy the recruiting process. Alabama expects to sign five linebackers in the 2019 class.

"I plan on waiting until the early signing period in December to announce my decision," Diabate said. "I have a few top schools in my head right now, but I am keeping it private."
