Associated Press names three Tide plays All-SEC

The University of Alabama football team had eight players selected to the Associated Press's 2010 Postseason All-SEC Team on Monday, with junior safety Mark Barron, sophomore offensive lineman Barrett Jones and junior wide receiver Julio Jones named first-team.
Second-team selections were junior defensive lineman Marcell Dareus, sophomore linebacker Dont'a Hightower, sophomore safety Robert Lester, senior tackle James Carpenter and junior running back Mark Ingram.

Tide holds team banquet
Julio Jones was named the Crimson Tide's most valuable player during the team banquet Sunday night at The Cahaba Grand Conference Center in Birmingham.
Players also selected as this year's team captains Barron, Hightower and Greg McElroy.

Awards rundown
McElroy will find out if he's the winner of either the William Campbell Trophy (scholar-athlete of the year award, formerly known as the Draddy Trophy), or the Wuerffel Trophy (community service with outstanding achievement) as both will be awarded Tuesday.
He's also up for the Coach Wooden Citizenship Cup (best role model), which won't be awarded until Jan. 25.
Elsewhere, Oregon's Chip Kelly was named FWAA Eddie Robinson National Coach of the Year winner. Nick Saban won the award in 2008.
Auburn offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn has won the annual Broyles Award given to the nation's top college assistant coach. Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart won last year.
Wisconsin's Scott Tolzien was named the winner of the Unitas Golden Arm Award as the nation's top senior quarterback on Monday. He led the nation in completion percentage (74.3) and ranked fourth in quarterback rating (169.8). McElroy was a top 10 candidate.
