Alabamas lead recruiter

Shaun Dion Hamilton, four-star linebacker from Carver High School in Montgomery, Ala., is relishing in his new role at Alabama's top recruiter.
"I was hanging out with Bo Scarbrough, Reuben [Foster], Alvin Kamara and Draequon [Murphy]," said Hamilton. "I was recruiting guys like Stephen Roberts, Ronnie Clark and Elisha Shaw. Elisha Shaw and I connected real good. It was fun overall hanging out with some of the guys. I know we are about to get some.

"I was telling these guys not to listen to all the hype from everywhere else. At any school you have to compete. The best place to compete with the best players is at Alabama. You know they are definitely going to get you ready for the next level. Coach Saban, Coach Smart, Coach Nussmeier, the whole staff is the best in the country."
Hamilton is hoping a few prospects he recruited this past weekend to become future teammates.
"I know my recruiting efforts worked," he said. "People are going to see when these commitments start falling. I feel good about Stephen Roberts, really a whole lot of guys. They know where home is. They want to have a little fun with recruiting, but at the end of the day they are coming to roll with the Tide."
Alabama's recent commitment talked more of the Tide's spring game.
"The spring game was real good," Hamilton said. "I saw everyone bouncing around. Last time I saw them in person was the Ole Miss game. It's fun seeing everyone compete. C.J. Mosley did real well. Kenny Bell's coming off the injury real good. Nick Perry and Vinnie Sunseri played real good. Of course [T.J.] Yeldon and [Amari] Cooper did great. Both of those both guys have great feet.
"It felt good going down there as a commitment. All the fans were calling my name. It felt good knowing I am a part of the team. The players are taking me under their wing. I am just ready to be a part of all of it."
Hamilton also spoke with Coach Saban during his time in Tuscaloosa.
"Coach Saban told me how he was glad with me joining the team," he said. "He talked about how big of an asset I am going to be. He told me he is going to need me to help recruit some of these guys so we can have the No. 1 class again. He doesn't have to worry about that."
