University of Alabama wide receivers coach Billy Napier will leave Tuscaloosa to become the new offensive coordinator at Arizona State.

The vacancy at Arizona State was created last week when Chip Lindsey left Tempe to become offensive coordinator at Auburn.

Napier is the third member of Alabama's 2016 offensive staff to leave for a new job. Offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin left to take over as head coach at Florida Atlantic in early January and offensive line coach Mario Cristobal took a new post as the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at the University of Oregon.

The two holdovers on the offensive staff are running backs coach Burton Burns and offensive line coach Brent Key.

Napier was an offensive analyst at UA in 2011 before joining Jim McElwain as the quarterbacks coach at Colorado State in 2012. He returned to Alabama after that stint in Fort Collins. Napier was previously an offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach (2009-10) and tight ends coach (2006-08) at Clemson.
