Alabama did enough.

The Crimson Tide's SEC Championship win over Georgia helped it earn the final spot in the College Football Playoff over an undefeated Florida State squad.

As the college football world processed what was a very difficult decision for the CFP selection committee, Alabama's current and former players shared their excitement at the Crimson Tide earning a chance to play for a National Championship:

The Crimson Tide will face Michigan in the Rose Bowl at 4 p.m. on Jan. 1.

Before this season, no team outside of the top six has ever jumped into the top-four during the final week of the CFP rankings. However, after a unique 2023 season, the committee jumped both Texas and Alabama from No. 7 and No. 8 respectively, into the playoff field.

Alabama, at least in the selection committee's eyes, proved that its improvement over the course of the season and a win over the No. 1 team in the country was enough to get the Crimson Tide in despite its head-to-head loss to the Longhorns in Week 2.

After the weekend's championship game results, the committee was never going to have a straightforward decision. It chose to leave out an undefeated Seminoles side who were down to their third string quarterback. Availability seems to be a big factor into leaving Florida State out, but the choice certainly sparked outrage among its players and coaching staff, and will likely leave analysis debating until both playoff games kickoff on New Year's Day.

Whether or not the rest of the college football world agrees, Crimson Tide fans have fiercely argued that Alabama's improvement over the course of the season would show the selection committee enough to be labeled as one of the four best teams in college football.

Those fans got their wish and celebrated accordingly.
