TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama freshman defensive lineman Justin Eboigbe is questionable for the Crimson Tide’s season opener against Duke.
“Justin has a foot injury that is not a long-term injury,” Alabama head coach Nick Saban said during his Monday news conference. “He’s kind of day-to-day. I would say he’s probably questionable for this particular game. So we just have to wait and see how he responds and how he goes from there.”
Eboigbe came to the Crimson Tide as an early enrollee in January. The 6-foot-5, 294-pound defensive lineman was serving on Alabama’s second-team unit before suffering the injury. Eboigbe is a former four-star recruit and was rated as the No. 133 overall player in this year’s class. He tallied four tackles and a sack during the A-Day game in the spring.
Saban also commented on redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Hunter Brannon, who he deemed “not able to participate.” He also said that redshirt junior offensive lineman Deonte Brown, who is suspended the first four games of the season “will be able to participate in probably the next couple of days.”
“I don’t think there’s anybody else,” Saban said. “I mean, you guys know the guys that are out other than that. Everybody else we expect to be able to practice and see how they respond and develop through the course of the week if they are coming off of injuries.
Alabama will play Duke at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday inside Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
