The Tuscaloosa News launched TideSports in the fall of 2002, and over the last several years has solidified itself as a premium source for all athletics at the University of Alabama. TideSports was selected as a top 10 sports web site by the Associated Press Sports Editors (APSE) in 2009 and 2010, including a top 7 finish in Multimedia. The Tuscaloosa News also earned Top 10 honors from the APSE in 2010 for daily section, special section and breaking news. In 2009, the Tuscaloosa News earned the APSE "Triple Crown," scoring a Top 10 in daily section, Sunday section and special section.

Andrew Bone, who has covered University of Alabama football recruiting since 2003, joined the Tidesports.com team as its chief recruiting analyst in the summer of 2012. He came to Tidesports.com from FoxSports/Scout.com, where he most recently served as an assistant regional manager of its recruiting coverage in an area spanning 10 states. His integrity gained the respect of high school and college coaches, and he has provided subscribers with a valued, trusted source for recruiting information. Aaron Suttles is the senior recruiting analyst for TideSports.com after covering high schools in West Alabama, as well as University of Alabama baseball and gymnastics for the past two years. A bright young sports writer, Suttles won an APSE top-three writing award while still in college at UA. D.C. Reeves is the managing editor of TideSports.com He spent two years as the managing editor at Warchant.com, the Rivals.com site covering Florida State University. Prior to that, he spent four years as a writer at the Pensacola News Journal, covering Trent Richardson's high school career and winning an APSE top three honor for his coverage of Emmitt Smith's induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

John Copeland
Former Alabama All-American defensive end and 1993 first-round NFL Draft pick John Copeland joined the tidesports.com team in 2010 as co-host of a live webcast held in Tuscaloosa on football game days during the fall. One of the anchors of the Crimson Tide defense that won the national championship in 1992, Copeland is now a Tuscaloosa TV/radio personality on the subject of Alabama football, and also an assistant football coach at Tuscaloosa Academy. Plans are for Copeland's role with tidesports.com to expand in 2011.
