Alabama’s trip to Texas wasn’t the Wild West shootout we expected, but it wasn’t short on drama. The Crimson Tide struggled through heat and a hostile environment, doing just enough to survive an upset scare and escape Austin with a 20-19 win over the Longhorns.

Will Reichard came away as the unlikely hero, knocking a 33-yard field goal through the uprights with 10 seconds remaining to win the game for Alabama. The showdown offered several other tense moments as Bryce Young sheriffed two late comeback drives in the fourth quarter after the Crimson Tide’s offense looked dead in the water.

A full film review of the game isn’t for the faint of heart. Alabama committed 15 penalties and appeared to be a far cry from the team favored to win this season’s national title. However, for Crimson Tide fans wanting to relive the action while skipping through some of the unsavory scenes, here are 10 plays that helped Alabama come away with the win.

Reichard’s first field goal

Reichard’s game-winner gets all the attention, but his 52-yarder on Alabama’s opening possession was a much tougher kick. For a brief moment, the long field-goal attempt appeared to be drifting to the right, but the ball quickly hooked back in time to sail comfortably inside the upright.

While the powerful kick would have been good from at least 55 yards out, Alabama made Reichard’s job a bit more difficult than it had to be as Young was sacked for a 4-yard loss on the play before. Not only did Reichard’s field goal put the Crimson Tide up 3-0, it also helped avoid giving the Longhorns an extra boost of early momentum.
