Bowman cleared

Alabama signee Michael Bowman has academically qualified and has been approved by the NCAA Clearinghouse, BamaOnLine.com has learned. Bowman will arrive in Tuscaloosa Sunday and is expected to begin classes at for UA's second summer term.

Bowman needed to pass one summer course before enrolling at UA, which was the reason he was unable to join most of the Crimson Tide's No.1-rated signing class for UA's first summer term in June.

Bowman (6-4, 206 pounds) wasn't immediately available for comment. He was rated a four-star wide receiver prospect by Rivals.com last year.

With Bowman and Gadsden City five-star cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick qualifying in time to enroll for Summer II, only two signees remain who are hoping to qualify late.

Destrehan (La.) defensive end Darrington Sentimore and Geismar (La.) Dutchtown running back Eddie Lacy also took summer classes in hopes of qualifying.

Lacy recently told BOL via text message that he is maintaining a 'B' grade in his summer class, which ends July 24th. Lacy hopes to enroll at UA for the fall term.

Sources told BOL earlier this summer that Sentimore had a strong chance to qualify and needed just one summer class, but it is unclear whether the four-star prospect hopes to enroll for Summer II or for the fall term.
