Solid showing for Coman

While most recruiting fans know of a certain talented athlete at Florence (Ala.) High School, college programs are also quickly learning of the talents of another defensive back at that school - Kivon Coman.

The 2012 safety/cornerback prospect recently enjoyed a solid showing at Mississippi State's camp.

"It was very hot," said the 6-foot-1 and 185-pound Coman with a laugh. "But that's normal in the South. But I think I learned a lot of things at this camp that I didn't learn in high school. Now I can use these things to help me get better every day and just be a better football player."

Coman noted that the MSU coaching staff was the top highlight of his camp experience at Mississippi State, and he took their instructions to heart.

"I love the coaching you get at Mississippi State's camp," said Coman. "No matter if you are doing things right or doing them wrong, they are gonna help you out and make you a better player. They teach you great techniques and i just love the way they coach you up."

This fall, Coman will team up with highly-recruited Florence safety Beniquez Brown, who owns numerous SEC offers. But Coman is also collecting offers and is now attracting SEC interest.

"South Florida, South Alabama, Arkansas State and some Division II colleges have offered me," said Coman. "And then Mississippi State, Auburn and Kentucky are also showing me interest."

Later this summer, Coman said he would unofficially visit South Florida and also plans to attend camps at Auburn, Kentucky, Clemson and Memphis. And of the schools recruiting him, Coman noted of one school standing atop of his favorites' list.

"Mississippi State and it's the Bulldogs, baby," said Coman. "I just love the coaches. Coach Geoff Collins is like my best friend and Coach Tony Hughes is like my best friend, too. We all get along great and it's like one big family here at Mississippi State."
