McKinney 2010 QB gaining steam
Every week, the competition for the title of being the best junior quarterback in the Metroplex gets more intense. Denton Ryan's Scotty Young has thrown 42 touchdowns this season and is averaging over 10 yards per attempt. Birdville's Josh Dorman has a 26-4 touchdown-interception ratio. Lake Dallas's James Franklin already has over 3,000 yards of total offense and 35 touchdowns passing and rushing.
A few weeks ago, another formidable contender threw his hat into the ring in a big way. McKinney's Zach Lee completed 27-of-47 passes for 414 yards and six touchdowns in an overtime loss to Denison. That's easily the best game of the year statistically for Lee, although he feels like that he has played better in other games where he didn't put up gaudy numbers.
The 6-foot-4, 195-pound Lee has scholarship offers from Texas Tech and Nebraska, and is gaining increased interest from Arizona, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Stanford, Texas A&M And LSU.
