Wood plans to return to Athens this fall
Georgia will be very selective as always with their offers in 2010, but one signal caller that we expect them give serious attention to is Connor Wood. The junior out of Houston (TX) has camped at UGA and both parties have interest in one another.
"I camped at Georgia in June and I learned a lot there," said Wood. "I learned a lot about footwork and how to position myself for each throw. I enjoyed the camp and I took a lot away from it."
It was Wood's first experience in Athens and the visit left a lasting impression.
"I did not really know anything about Georgia or Athens before I got to camp, but I came away very impressed. It was a great town, the facilities were very nice, it is a top school, and the academics there are top of the line."
The 6-foot-4, 201 pound Second Baptist QB followed Georgia in 2007 and he has legit interest in the Bulldog program. Other than touring the town and camping at UGA, he also spent some time with the coaches.
"I got to talk with Coach Mark Richt while I was down there and he is a great man. He seemed real interested in me and he is a guy with great integrity. I had heard great things about him and Georgia and they were true."
"I also spent some time with Coach Mike Bobo and he was real nice. He first introduced himself to me before camp and I was impressed right away. He has been a college quarterback in modern times and now he is an offensive coordinator, so he knows a lot about my position. He knows what it is like to play quarterback, so I know he could help me a lot."
