Cody still solid to UA?

He is the largest of Alabama's 2008 football commitments, and Gulf Coast Community College star Terrence Cody's considerable size has made him an attractive target for multiple programs who need a run-plugging nose guard in the middle. One school that hasn't stopped pursuing Cody despite his November commitment to Alabama is the University of Miami.

"Miami still calls me a lot," said Cody, a three-star prospect and the 46th-ranked JUCO prospect in the country. "I am being recruited by Coach (Joe) Pannunzio, and he is a great guy. They have discussed bringing me in for a visit, and I was going to take one a couple of weeks ago but decided not to go at the last minute.

"They haven't offered me yet, but if they did, it would give me something to think about because it is closer to home. Right now, I am still committed to Alabama and ready to get to Tuscaloosa. "

Cody is a Florida native and admits an interest in getting back to his home state, but for now, everything still appears to be on track for the 6f-foot-5, 395-pounder to get to Alabama.

"Coach (Bo) Davis came by the school and spoke to me for awhile last week," said Cody. "It was a good visit. He told me to get ready to work hard, but that we would have fun as well. That is what Coach Davis always preaches. He wants us to work harder than our opponents and the fun will come with the winning."

Davis reports to problems on the academic front and appears on track for a May graduation from JUCO.

"I am all set to go," said Cody. "I am finishing up my last classes, and I don't have any worries there. The experience here has been good for me. I have got a good start on my academics and I was able to play on an undefeated team this season. You can't ask for much more than that."

Cody picked Alabama over offers from Auburn, Tennessee, Ole Miss and West Virginia.

Cody will have three years to play two at Alabama with his redshirt year still intact.
