All-Star Classic preparations underway

Keep it simple and let the players play; It's what Alabama All-Star defensive coordinator L.C. Cole plans to do this week.

Cole, former college coach and current head coach at Sydney Lanier, has plenty of weapons on defense to use Monday night in the 21st annual Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic in Mobile, Ala.

One look at the team during practice Thursday morning at Ladd-Peebles Stadium was proof enough. At one point, Cole had five of the top defensive recruits in the nation on the field at the same time.

Rivals.com five-star Burton Scott was playing cornerback. In the front seven was four other nationally-ranked recruits including a trio of four-stars, LB/DE William Green (Rivals100), LB Jerrell Harris and DE Brandon Lewis, along with a workhorse DT, Jomarcus Savage, and one of the better linebackers on the field regardless of size in Jacoby Thomas.
