Harris eyes trip to USC

Jerrell Harris, the four-star outside linebacker from Gadsden City (Ala.), has made his name on the football field with a combination of tenacity, versatility and speed.

While he gets to ball-carriers in a hurry, Harris is in no rush to make his commitment yet.

Last May, the Trojans' coaching staff traveled to Alabama to watch Harris play in person. With an eye focused on the future, he would like to return the favor and visit Los Angeles in 2008.

"Yeah, they'll be one of my official visits," Harris said about the University of Southern California. "It will probably be in January - after the season."

Harris has been talking with his two recruiting coordinators from USC - Ken Norton Jr. and Todd McNair - frequently this summer ironing out the details.

"I've been talking to Ken Norton and it's going good right now," he said.
