Georgia connections could help with Ray
One of the top receivers in Florida looks to be Melvin Ray of North Florida Christian in Tallahassee. That high school program is coached by one Mark Richt's former players at FSU and that could give the Dawgs an edge. We caught up with Ray to see how much interest he had in Georgia and if those Coach Richt connections could help UGA land a prized recruit out of the panhandle.
"Oh man, I have always had a lot of interest in Georgia," said Ray. "I grew up in Cairo (Ga.) before moving down here in the 8th grade, so I grew up a fan. I was kind of mixed between Georgia and FSU. Me and all my cousins played football when we were little and we dreamed of playing for Georgia."
