Jerry the cat a permanent fixture for Alabama golf program

Since Jerry arrived seven summers ago, the University of Alabama has won three national golf championships and six Southeastern Conference titles.

She has never dropped a putt or chipped out of a bunker, but she is there every day, attending practices and keeping an eye on day-to-day operations.

Her room and board and meals are provided for, but she isn't on scholarship.

That's because Jerry is a cat, a gray-and-white tabby about the size of a large shoe, with white boots and dark tiger stripes. Since showing up at UA's golf complex at Ol' Colony as a stray, she has been adopted as the unofficial mascot of the Alabama men's and women's teams.
