Alabama rides momentum into South Carolina

The University of Alabama basketball team has something rare for this season - momentum.

Of course, it has been even rarer for South Carolina, currently the last-place team in the Southeastern Conference. But the Gamecocks, coming off a snow-delayed 65-59 victory over Vanderbilt on Thursday are on a mini-roll as well.

"They have been playing very well, especially at home," Alabama coach Anthony Grant said Friday before UA left for this afternoon's game in Columbia, S.C. "They have beaten Vanderbilt and Texas A&M and even their losses have basically come down to one possession. You always expect that from a Frank Martin team."
