CECIL HURT: Did top-ranked class meet needs?

After a difficult couple of months by Alabama football standards - two losses and no third BCS title constitute "difficulty" by UA standards - solace arrived on Wednesday in a familiar form.

To frame that another way, there are three certainties in Alabama: death, taxes and winning National Signing Day.

For the first time since November, Alabama fans won't be avoiding their Auburn acquaintances as if they bore a potentially fatal airborne disease. They won't dread the radio talk shows or change the channel when they hear the word "Alabama" on ESPN for fear of seeing the Chris Davis field goal return for the 67,534th time.
