Scouting Cal DE signee Kennedy Emesibe

The Cal staff added some help at a need position when Oak Hills (Hesperia, CA) defensive end Kennedy Emesibe committed to the Golden Bears on Sunday. The 6'3", 240-pound Emesibe joins Pierce's Jonathan Johnson in adding depth to Cal's pass rushing ranks. Emesibe chose Cal over offers from the likes of Arizona, Arizona State, Washington State, and Mississippi State. The Cal offer was the first for Emesibe, coming back in April of 2013.

In the 2013 season he tallied 45 tackles, 12 sacks, one interception (returned for a touchdown), and blocked two kicks for the Bulldogs. Oak Hills finished the year with a 10-2 record and Emesibe earned First Team All-Mojave River honors. In two seasons as a varsity starter, Emesibe compiled 20.5 sacks and over 100 tackles.
