INSIDER REPORT: Mississippi State QB situation a mystery
The University of Alabama defense is preparing for both Mississippi State quarterbacks this week during practice.
During the Southeastern Conference coaches teleconference Wednesday morning, Bulldogs coach Dan Mullen said he didn't know if starter Dak Prescott would be available for Saturday's game after an elbow injury sustained against Texas A&M. If he isn't, Mullen will turn to Tyler Russell.
Whichever quarterback plays Saturday, the Crimson Tide will be ready, linebacker C.J. Mosley said.
"Well, Prescott, he's more of the running quarterback, but both of them are big, tall quarterbacks, and both of them can run the ball well and they like to spread the ball out, especially with formations and get guys out of the box. So we have to do a good job playing a five-man box and try to contain the quarterback runs because once those guys get going, it's kinda hard to stop them," he said.
