LSU turns into slouching Tigers

LSU head coach Les Miles is known for his colorful quotes and on-the-field antics such as munching on grass, but even he struggled for the right words while reflecting on his team's 38-17 loss Saturday night to top-ranked Alabama.

"We were not prepared for this," Miles admitted. "Two quality teams played, and certainly Alabama separated themselves from us tonight."

Behind the strong arm of quarterback Zach Mettenberger, LSU challenged the Alabama secondary in the first half, but the Crimson Tide challenged the Tigers at the line of scrimmage in the second half.

Instead of an offensive shootout, the Tigers found themselves in a backroom brawl after halftime, and they didn't have the strength to fight back. Led by T.J. Yeldon, who rushed for a game-high 133 yards and two touchdowns, the Crimson Tide pounded out 193 yards on the ground.
