Sooners Inform Rivals250 OL of New Policy

Oklahoma's football program doesn't have a rich history with Polynesian prospects, though there have been a few to play their college football in Norman. Former defensive end, C.J. Ah You was of Samoan descent while current offensive guard/center, Nila Kasitati is Tongan. The Sooners are hoping to add on to that list with Damien Mama, a monstrous 6-foot-5 and 360-pound Samoan offensive guard out of Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco, who received a Sooner offer on Thursday.

The Rivals250 member had been in contact with former Sooner coach Bruce Kittle but after he was replaced it was newly hired offensive line coach, Bill Bedenbaugh that took over the communication with Mama.

A recent phone call with Bedenbaugh let Mama know an offer would be coming soon but first Mama's head coach, Jason Negro had to hear the news before it could take place.
