As the lone official visitor this weekend, the Ohio State coaching staff put the full court press on outstanding Midlothian (Va.) Clover Hill athlete Joel Caleb. The 6-foot-2, 201-pound four-star prospect is a new name on the Ohio State recruiting radar as new head coach Urban Meyer tries to finish strong in the 2012 recruiting cycle. Caleb came away impressed by his trip to Columbus.

"It was wonderful," said Caleb of his visit. "I really enjoyed it. They truly are genuine people up there. (The facilities) were the best I've ever seen by a long shot."

Caleb was able to talk to a host of coaches from Ohio State, including his lead recruiter Stan Drayton.

"I talked with my recruiting coach, coach Drayton and coach (Greg) Gillum," he said. "They showed me around for the weekend."

While Meyer is getting a lot of the credit for the interest in Caleb, and rightfully so, it was actually Drayton who laid the groundwork for the visit.

"I had been interested in (Ohio State) the whole time," he explained. "Me and coach Drayton had built a good relationship over time and I had actually planned my official visit before coach Meyer was hired. Him being hired just made everything that much more special."

Caleb spoke with Meyer throughout the course of his visit and said he came away impressed by his honesty and somewhat laid back approach.

"Not once did he apply any pressure on me to commit," Caleb explained. "He just spoke the truth about everything. He told me that what they were going to do there and that within the next couple of years is going to be big and that they are going to win a lot."

Caleb said the visit helped Ohio State's chances greatly, but he still has some other schools that are in the mix and he plans to check a pair of them out in the coming weeks.

"Ohio State is sitting very high on the list right now," he said. "I'll be visiting Virginia Tech next week and West Virginia in January."

So when will a decision be coming from Caleb?

"Probably on Signing Day," he said.
