Ehrlich working through the process

Pearland All-State linebacker Kendall Ehrlich's recruitment has really blown up over the course of the last few months. With only three offers back in April, the talented Ehrlich now holds 16 offers on his table, including one from Houston.

CougarsDen caught up with Ehrlich recently to talk about the recruiting process and what's been going on with him lately.

"I've got quite a few offers right now," the All-State backer said. "It's been fun and exciting, I'm really enjoying it."

The Cougars would love to add Ehrlich as a key figure to their linebacking corps in the middle of their 3-4 defense.

"They offered me a while back," he said. "I like Houston, it's close to home, it's a good place and I like the coaches a lot too."

Although Ehrlich played in a 4-2-5 defense with the State Champion Pearland Oilers, he appears ready and willing for the 3-4 if that happens to be in his future.

"They're recruiting me as an inside backer there," he said about Houston. "It's a good defense, set up around the linebackers and it's easy to make plays."

Houston appears to be towards the top of the list for Ehrlich but he also favors another in state school highly as well.

"They're in the top few," said the talented defender. "I wouldn't say they're number one, but I don't really have a favorite. I like Baylor a lot too, but I'm not really sure about a number one school."

Ehrlich plans to visit Houston again and hopes to have his decision made prior to the start of his senior season so he can focus on another deep playoff run with his Pearland Oilers.
