Browne lands offer, sets up visits

Browne, a 6-foot-5, 202-pound prospect, was one of the best quarterbacks at the recent Stanford Elite 11 regional workout and he threw for 4,182 yards with 50 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in his sophomore year.

He's definitely interested in the Golden Bears especially since coach Jeff Tedford has such a good reputation working with quarterbacks.

"It's definitely great," Browne said. "I liked what I saw when I was down there even though they struggled last year.

"Tedford works well with quarterbacks and that's somewhere I can see myself fitting nicely. It was nice knowing that I have options. Washington is a great choice for me if that was my only offer but now I can open up to new schools and the idea of going away if that's the best fit for me."

USC has gotten more involved in the past few weeks and Browne said he's planning trips to Michigan, Notre Dame and Wisconsin at the end of June.

Since it's still so early in his recruitment, Browne plans to get out and see lots of campuses while he has ample time.

"My mentality is that I'm early in the process and I want to see as many schools as possible," Browne said.

"It can't hurt. I'm enjoying it, taking it all in, not making any big-time decisions right now and just checking out campuses and seeing what I like and don't like in each school."

More visits could happen over the next couple months. There is a chance Browne could visit Oklahoma and possibly some schools in California since he has family in the Los Angeles area and in the northern part of the state.
