Is Ball still solid with the Bucks?

The news of Jim Tressel stepping down is not even a couple of hours old but the recruiting ramifications are front and center for the Ohio State program. Warren Ball committed to the Buckeyes early in the process for the class of 2012 and people are wanting to know if the loss of the head coach will mean a loss of recruits.

The Columbus (Ohio) DeSales product is not looking to make a change however and for some kids the lure of Ohio State rests with Ohio State but that doesn't mean the loss of a coach like Tressel doesn't make them take notice.

"I'm still committed," Ball said. "It's still Ohio State and it's still a great program. I'm definitely still committed."

The 6-foot-2, 200 pound running back has nothing but respect for Tressel however and will miss a chance to play under the coach who initially recruited him.

"He's a great person," Ball said. "I don't know everything about his situation and I try not to worry about it too much but I know that he's a great person."

Even with this preemptive move by Tressel to step down it doesn't mean that Ohio State is totally out of the woods and on August 12th the program should know more about what the NCAA is thinking about the future of the Buckeyes. We asked Ball about that day and if anything surrounding that date may change his stance with the Bucks.

"As of now no, but we will just have to wait and find out (what the ruling is) and go from there," Ball said.
