Video: Spartans sitting good with several top recruits

DETROIT, Mich. - Some of the top athletes in the Midwest were at Wayne State University last week to work with college football coaches at every level during the Sound Mind Sound Body Football Camp.

Michigan State's entire football coaching staff participated in the game including head coach Mark Dantonio, who believes the Sound Mind Sound Body Camp does an excellent job promoting the values necessary for success in life.

"I think the key is education," said Dantonio. "I think they are doing a great job. sound mind, sound body, a lot of this about their education, there is a lot of focus on that."

Dantonio and his staff were also watching closely at the athletes participating in the event. Michigan State might have brought the biggest contingent of coaches to the camp, but they were not the only ones at Wayne State.

"There are a lot of college coaches here," said Dantonio. "You see coaches from Syracuse, Iowa, Michigan State, Michigan, Cincinnati, former NFL players as well. There are a lot of eyes watching and I am sure that is impressive to them, but it goes beyond football. What can you do in two days? Are you really going to get better in two days? Athletically, I don't think that you can. But can you learn how to focus and see things that others are doing. Those are the things that last and having meaning."
