Byrd prepping for combine

The U.S. Army All-American Combine has become a huge event in the world of recruiting, and prospects from all over the country spend ample time preparing for it to make sure they arrive in the best condition and playing shape possible. That's where Damiere Byrd finds himself these days.

The 5-foot-10, 160-pound athlete from Sicklerville (N.J.) Timber Creek recently completed a big-time junior campaign. Over the course of the season he recorded more than 1,300 yards rushing and receiving. Timber Creek lost in the Group Three championship, but Byrd considers the season a success.
