Tide commits deep into playoffs

FOLLOWING THE FUTURE

JENNINGS HESTER - LB 6'3 - 228, Atlanta, GA.

Marist won a hard fought 14-7 playoff game against Dacula. Jennings Hester recorded 13 tackles.

"Dacula was a tough team. We had to come from behind but the defense stepped up and made plays when it had to and we pulled a close one out in the end but we expect those type of games in the playoffs," Hester said. "This week we face Creekside with Eric Berry and he's one of the best players in the country. They run the triple option just like we do and they are going to be tough to beat."

LAMARCUS WILLIAMS - DT 6'1 - 280, Bastrop, La.

Bastrop won their 2nd playoff game with a 35-21 effort over Ouchita. Williams totaled five tackles and two tackles-for-loss.

"We got up big and we were playing really well in the first half. We dominated defensively and then we had some mental mistakes and they scored a few more times than we are used to. We let our guard down and we can't do that," Williams said. "We are going to be worked hard this week and we should be. We have to remain focused in every game and not relax when we have a lead. Team are too tough from here on out for that."
