I agree, all of that was blamed on Bush. Glad we cleared that up.

Was it right to blame it on Bush? Do two wrongs make a right?

Absolutely not. But, the double standard is ridiculous. Look, I like Obama as a man. He's a cool dude, and was a much needed change in direction. But, a lot of his promises haven't been achieved. Everything that was listed in this thread, that's being blamed on Obama, was at one point or another, blamed on Bush. All I'm saying is, if it's good for the goose, then it's good for the gander.

Bush
Taxes for the rich
War we didnt need (I was there)
Big debt (inherited a surplus left a deficit)

Obama
Health Care for All
Equal Pay for Women
Bin Laden
Saved Auto industry
End of war
Just to name a few
and best of all AS COOL AS THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PILLOW

Health care? That has put us billions more in debt.
Bin Laden? Could have swore that SF and Navy SEALS got that guy.
Saved the auto industry? Like GM, who still hasn't paid back the money they received from the Government?
End of war? We are still fighting in Afghanistan, and still have a lot of troops in Iraq.
Not to mention gas prices are damn near 4 dollars a gallon.
North Korea just launched a missle in defiance of the U.N.
Iran is a bigger threat than ever in the Middle East, and to Isreal.

Y'all get the point...

On health care, I agree.

Bin Laden? If you don't give credit to the pres. for this, then I guess you don't hold Bin Laden responsible for 9/11. Can't have it both ways.

Saved the auto industry? No matter how much you disagree with it, and I really didn't at the time, it did save millions of jobs. Most of the money lent has been payed back.

Ending the wars? It's happening, and Afghanistan will probably end within the next couple of years.

Gas prices are not the presidents problem. Blame speculators and the refineries.

NK does what it wants to do. No way to really stop them besides all out war.

Iran is more of a threat now because of Bush taking out Saddam. When we took him out, we unsettled the balance of power in the region and gave it to Iran on a silver platter. Israel can take care of itself.

Nice to have a level headed responce, thanks.

The wars will end due to our not being able to fund then anymore, not because Obama chooses to end them, that's a fact.

With respect to the auto industry, GM has not paid any money back to the government.

North Korea didn't launch but one missle on Bush's watch, and we placed more Soldier on the border in responce. This is the second on Obamas watch, with the first coming in 2009.

While it is true Isreal can take care of itself, we would without a doubt be involved in any conflict if it occured.

The fact of the matter is, Iran laughs in our face now. You really didn't see them get involved with our operation in Iraq for fear of pissing Bush off and getting the living crap bombed out of their country.

enjoy your day of ditch-digging, genius. your posts are truly shameful to tide fans with any sense. the way mods let political threads grow, so long as they're bashing democrats, is unbelievable.

LOL, ditch digging huh? Us sidewalk alums just aren't worthy of you actual alums...I probably pay more in taxes per year than you actually make. If you don't like the threads why post in them? And you have no idea how "shameful" I can be Pal. Going back to bed now, those ditches aren't gonna dig themselves, I guess I'll get a couple of the illegals the Idiot in Chief wants to give amnesty to dig them for me!

Blame where it is deserved is one thing (whether it be Bush or Obama) but the ludicrous, unsubstantiated, hateful rhetoric that people spewed about Bush and now do about Obama hurts our country. If we want things to be better we have to stand up against those types of tactics whether we agree with the policies of the candidates or not.

Again, I agree with you. I'm at the point were I can't stand either party. It's hard to believe we are this divided as a country. But, it's hard to look at Obama's body of work as our President, and call it a success. On the flip side, that can also be said about Bush. My point is, GWB was bashed in 2008 for many of the same short comings that Obama is getting bashed for now. What's the difference, other than Obama is black?

I will first state that I will always RESPECT the President of my country. I will not always agree with all of their policies. That has held true for all that have held office in my lifetime. I will never "hate" the president.

I live in Jax/ St Augustine Fla which has a strong military presence plus a large number of tourist. In the past month I have had a number of young people that have 10+ years in the military that are being forced out due to cutbacks. One young man that was in has 3 children with a 4th on the way a beautiful wife and 12+ years in the Navy. He is being forced out. He is now in his early 30's and has to start over. I understand cutbacks .... I do not understand why we are spending MILLIONS of dollars to recruit new people to join if we are letting go qualified people. I understand a new person is paid less etc.... I would say to President Obama and his staff these young men protected our country and many of their friends lost their life and now you are going to discard them ..... Mr President you nor I served but Sir I have far more respect for what our men/women in uniform than you are showing.

I wish one lead media person would interview a few of the young people being forced out and then have the President why are we spending millions to recruit new people when we are letting others go.

I do not know all of the details but I know the young people I have talked to have been educated and very respectful young men. And yes I have seen the ad's paid for by the military asking business to hire former military people.

4 more years of him and I want be able to stay on this site. He's taking the country down at a slow pace.Sad thing is we have no one who can bring it back.

Posted on 4/13 6:29 AM | IP: Logged

You will regret that statement sir.

This is not the President's fault. Sure the DoD budget was cut but the services are deciding where to make those cuts and personnel are the first targets. The only people being "forced" out are the ones performing at a subpar level and failing to advance in rank. I don't agree with targeting personnel at all but to place that blame on the President is probably not correct.

Posted on 4/13 7:53 AM | IP: Logged

If the hot dogs are cold tomorrow it is Mal's fault. The President is the person in charge of our military.

Posted on 4/13 8:36 PM | IP: Logged

Thanks for making my point. If the hot dogs are cold you placed the blame on the Athletic Director instead of the President of the University. So personnel cuts in the military could be blamed on the SECDEF or CJCS.
