The President is the President. Just as the Oscars are not a place for political statements. The same goes for the football field. When it is said Saban teaches the athletes On and off the field... This is a good example. I'm a conservative, I disagree with many of the Presidents policies... But he is the President. And I think it's great that the players show class and respect the way they did. Might be back next year, but then again, that could be AJ's only visit with the Pres. Class and respect... That's what they showed. My favorite Pres was Ronald Reagan. We need him now.

No we don't. Spot on about Coach Saban though.

Great example... Everybody has their opinion... Cast your vote.. Support your candidate, then after the election, The President is the Pres..

Was anyone expecting otherwise? I can understand how pro athletes decline WH invites--they're by and large entitled morons. Our players are probably entitled morons too for the most part, but they still answer to Saban.

On a side note, I hope the mods will start to police these threads closely as the election nears. The OP can't make a point without inserting his political values, despite the clear irony that this is exactly what he's arguing against, and sure enough, it leads to a political response. It's only a matter of time before politics snakes its way into threads all over the board. It would be nice if there were a "no politics, no religion" sticky like on the soundoff board.

What is ridiculous is how all these polarizing news agencies, etc....preach the divisive discourse. I'm a yellow dog democrat and I can't stand certain presidents' policies (like Bush). But I would never boo the president.....and if he was in town or something I would love to meet the president regardless of which party they are in. We should teach all children to respect the president instead of calling them an idiot in front of kids....etc. Until this happens it's gonna be tough to advance as a nation, IMO>

It's to the point now where Ted Nugent is some kind of a hero because of a veiled threat against the president. I saw a guy on my facebook with (Nugent for president) post the other day and here's the kicker...the guy is a preacher.....This stuff is getting ridiculous.
