KansasKansas, I was the one who posted I would not be surprised to see Ryan beat out Dickson and Hubbard although it probably won't happen. Watching his video in the All Star game and in the practices Anderson just dominated everybody he went up against. He bullrushed some offensive tackles and pushed them all the way back to the QB or he put a move on them and got by them with relative ease. No matter who starts, we have a lot of talent between the three of them at the jack linebacker position so it's all good. RTR !

Not taking you to task or anything--I've said the same thing. It's an open competition, and, as I've said before, Hubbard hasn't been as impressive as I thought he'd be. Anderson definitely plays like a guy with something to prove, and I like that. In fact, I think it's the exact quality Hubbard is lacking. I'm really just commenting on the fact that Anderson is not the specimen I was expecting. A friend who saw him in person said he's closer to 6'1, and in this photo he appears to be carrying some bad weight. Once he gets his flu shot I'm sure he'll be a killer for us

The pic does not do him justice, He is alot bigger in real life. I would say 63 260. Give hime the next 6 months to workout and then you can judge him.

Kecalf was #13....but he weighed only about 160-165 pounds. Belue looks quite a bit bigger than that.

#54, at least for all of us old fans, always will be Leroy's number. Perhaps this number should have been retired, though I do not believe Coach Bryant believed in retiring numbers.

My take away from this is that Anderson is actually smaller than I expected. Based only one their talent coming out of HS and the time they've spent at Bama, I'd have to think that there's little chance that Anderson will challenge XD and AH this year. It's an open competition there, but I was expecting Anderson to look more like Hightower did coming out of HS. He's not that big, nor does he have the good weight Hightower had. For most intents and purposes, the Jack plays in the trenches, and we just haven't seen many guys come in immediately ready to produce from that spot

I'm thrilled to death about having him. There's just been a lot of talk about him potentially beating out Hubbard and Dickson. I think his height is a little inflated and compared to Rolo and Hightower as freshmen, he carries more weight around his middle than in his legs. I know it's not a beauty contest, but not having much to go on, I have a hard time buying into him beating out two vets of the program, who were also really hyped when they were his age

#55 is still available. I wish our linebackers wore linebacker numbers. 35? ryans 25? Rolo 5? Harris 30? Hightower 32? Mosely 13? Reamer I don't know the infatuation with single digits either. They won't wear those numbers at the next level.

Agree with the others here on the impressive size of Yeldon. To think of how athletic this guy is, and to see that size, then you know why he was rated as highly as he was.
Also, just think what he will look like after two years in the 4th quarter program......

My thoughts as well. We'll be in better shape in the secondary than we were in 10' when that was the primary concern. Dixon and Belue along with Milliner and Fulton should us very comfortable at CB.

Thoughts:
* Dixon & Belue look very developed and it's great to have two mature developed corners coming in to challenge our current guys at that spot.
* Anderson looks to be in great shape with great mass for his age
* Chris Black is your typical space receiver with that frame
* Yeldon has a freaking huge frame. Look out SEC
