I will first state that I will always RESPECT the President of my country. I will not always agree with all of their policies. That has held true for all that have held office in my lifetime. I will never "hate" the president.
I live in Jax/ St Augustine Fla which has a strong military presence plus a large number of tourist. In the past month I have had a number of young people that have 10+ years in the military that are being forced out due to cutbacks. One young man that was in has 3 children with a 4th on the way a beautiful wife and 12+ years in the Navy. He is being forced out. He is now in his early 30's and has to start over. I understand cutbacks .... I do not understand why we are spending MILLIONS of dollars to recruit new people to join if we are letting go qualified people. I understand a new person is paid less etc.... I would say to President Obama and his staff these young men protected our country and many of their friends lost their life and now you are going to discard them ..... Mr President you nor I served but Sir I have far more respect for what our men/women in uniform than you are showing.
I wish one lead media person would interview a few of the young people being forced out and then have the President why are we spending millions to recruit new people when we are letting others go.
I do not know all of the details but I know the young people I have talked to have been educated and very respectful young men. And yes I have seen the ad's paid for by the military asking business to hire former military people.

This is not the President's fault. Sure the DoD budget was cut but the services are deciding where to make those cuts and personnel are the first targets. The only people being "forced" out are the ones performing at a subpar level and failing to advance in rank. I don't agree with targeting personnel at all but to place that blame on the President is probably not correct.

Just a thought that is never discussed when health care is the topic:
The future of heath care is DNA related. With DNA information medicine will be able to design drugs to cure and perhaps to prevent many dreadful diseases. In doing this, it is possible that health care costs will actually drop as more diseases are prevented before expensive theatment is needed. But in this country, the same DNA information can be used to deny medical and life insurance and even deny employment. Most cases where employment is denied are due to high health care cost for the company. While these conditions exist, most people will remain unwilling to have their DNA sequenced and medical science is not benefiting from a wealth of information that is being withheld. We will never reap the full rewards of DNA research without universal health care.
That's not a political statement but it invites you to put 2 and 2 together.
By the way, ads placed on this site are mot selected by anyone on the staff so you're wasting your time to ask them to do anything about them.

Again, I agree with you. I'm at the point were I can't stand either party. It's hard to believe we are this divided as a country. But, it's hard to look at Obama's body of work as our President, and call it a success. On the flip side, that can also be said about Bush. My point is, GWB was bashed in 2008 for many of the same short comings that Obama is getting bashed for now. What's the difference, other than Obama is black?

Depends on how you define "conservative". My definition of the word is to run this country the way our founding fathers intended it to be run. Some gave their lives and some lost all they had, and they were proud to do it. Any one of them would've stepped in front of a bullet for you or myself if they thought it would better the country. The people leading this country today would push us in the way to keep from getting hit themselves. Just about everyone in Congress is in there for themselves, NOT this country. It's the power that comes with these positions is what they are after. If you think anyone in congress or the President gives a rip what happens to you or me, you are sadly mistaken.

Depends on how you define "conservative". My definition of the word is to run this country the way our founding fathers intended it to be run. A democracy is only as strong as the people who live in it. Are you going to elevate the debate, or debase it with unsubstantiated spite? Limbaugh, Olberman and the like, are leading us in one direction but we don't have to follow them.

That is exactly what is worrying the hell out of me. This country is politically polarized in a very unhealthy way. The extreme right wing and left wing sides of the argument are making it tough for us moderates to exist in the area in between the two.

Disagree all you want with his politics and express that disagreement on the many political sites available or at the ballot box come November. Using words such as hatred to express disagreement shows a lack of vocabulary to adequately and intelligently express one's disagreement. And keep those posts away from this site. RTR!!!!!!!
