The Top Five itself is a veritable whose who of basketball talent inlcuding two potential McDonald's All-Americans and the liklihood of over twenty D-I players in just the top ten teams in the 1A NCISAA. To win the crown here will take loads of talent, excellence in coaching, and a little luck mixed in for good measure. Let's take a look at the Top Five

This past week Gaston County football fans have debated which factor, revenge or respect, would provide the best motivation to win the rematch between the South Point Red Raiders and the Forestview Jaguars. The Jaguars have been looking for respect after going 0-10 against South Point before winning their first game against the Raiders in dramatic fashion just four short week ago. The Red Raiders were seeking revenge after dropping that game to the Jaguars with only six seconds remaining on the clock that ended a 15-game conference win streak. There would be no last second heroics in the rematch..

In the 2009 North Carolina State Playoffs, rematches are abundant should the cards fall the right way. There were already a few rematches in the 1st round, and some, if not most, had the same outcomes as the previous meeting. For instance, the Lincolnton Wolves defeated the Maiden Blue Devils in Week 3 at Blue Devils Stadium 21-13. Last Friday, the Wolves defeated the Blue Devils at Memorial Stadium in Lincolnton 55-6. The Bandys Trojans defeated the South Iredell Vikings almost 4 weeks ago 30-0 at South Iredell. Last Friday, the Trojans defeated the Vikings at Butler Memorial Stadium 42-7. Round #2 presents a lot of teams with new challengers (East Lincoln hosts West Stokes, Lincolnton travels to Carver, Shelby hosts Salisbury). However, there is a rematch taking place in Catawba, North Carolina, and it's even more talked about, and even more anticipated than the first meeting:
