BIO NOTES

2006 (Junior): Monk had a fantastic spring and fall camp. He is poised for a monster season, especially if Arkansas passes the ball as much as is expected.

2005 (Sophomore): Monk was the go-to-guy for Arkansas again at receiver in 2005, but the Razorbacks had trouble throwing the ball, and Monk's numbers were average. Still has a world of talent.

2004 (Freshman): He played football and basketball at Arkansas as a freshman, but he had to leave the basketball team early with a shoulder injury related to football. Monk earned the starting job at split end after the Florida game last season, but he gradually became the team's most consistent receiver even before that. He showed potential to be a star as a true freshman.

Personal: Monk was also the top basketball player in the state. He is believed to be the only player in the history of the state to be offered scholarships for both basketball and football at Arkansas. Monk has a 3.97 GPA and he scored 1130 on the ACT. Rivals.com rates Monk the No. 68 wide receiver in the country. He is also rated the No. 31 basketball player in the southeast He will play both sports at Arkansas, but he will be on a football scholarship. He selected the Hawgs over Ole Miss, Boston College, Stanford, Penn State, Oklahoma and others.

Scouting Reports

The Good: Monk has strong hands and utilizes his big frame well to adjust to the ball. He shows toughness running across the middle and has the ability to hang on to the ball after taking a hit. He has all the makings of a fine possession receiver.

The Bad: Monk has marginal separation speed. He underwent two minor surgeries on his knee last summer and didn’t play his senior year until midway through the season.
