Ole Miss 24

Despite the lopsided loss to Texas, Ole Miss is better than it was last year, when Alabama won 52-7 on the road. The Rebels come to town with some offensive weapons in running back Jeff Scott and quarterback Bo Wallace. Scott ranks fifth in the SEC with 268 rushing yards. Wallace has thrown for 717 yards and seven touchdowns, but Alabama leads the league in total defense and ranks second in rushing defense and passing defense.

As well as Ole Miss has played this season, the Rebels haven't seen an opponent on the level of Alabama, and yes, that includes Texas. Any team that threatens Alabama will have to throw the ball effectively, and there is nothing to suggest Ole Miss will do that. On the Crimson Tide's side of the ledger, the Rebels represent a chance to clean up last week's red-zone issues in UA's first home SEC game of the year.

Going on the premise that nothing good happens after 8 o'clock, at least in football terms, the Crimson Tide will play at the Rebels' no-huddle pace and kick 13 field goals in 13 possessions. That at least would make history. More likely is that Alabama will continue its Tuscaloosa dominance of a team with a long way to go.

Alabama 42,
Ole Miss 12

Ole Miss has shown marked improvement in Hugh Freeze's first year in Oxford. Not enough to be a contender in the SEC West, or to come closer than five touchdowns at home against Texas, but there was nowhere to go but up. The Rebels did show some big-play ability in that Texas game, so I'll give them multiple scores tonight.

Michael Southern
Alabama 40,
Ole Miss 13

The no-huddle offense of Ole Miss presents a unique challenge for the Crimson Tide, but so far no team has gotten close to threatening the Alabama defense which is second nationally in scoring defense and third in total defense. Even though the Rebels are averaging 36.8 points per game, Alabama has been even better with a 42-point average. The Tide's depth at running back and wide receiver has given AJ McCarron a lot of weapons to choose from this season.

Edwin Stanton
Alabama 52,
Ole Miss 7

Same song, different year. I'm going with last year's score because nothing has changed between the last time these two teams played. Alabama is still the best team in the country and Ole Miss is one of the worst. Granted, the Rebels have a much better offense this season, but the outcome will be the same - an Alabama victory. The only disappointment tonight will be if AJ McCarron's interception streak comes to an end, and it won't.

Harold Stout
Alabama 35,
Ole Miss 7

Ole Miss has won in Tuscaloosa just once in the series. The Rebels are 1-24 at Bryant-Denny Stadium. After tonight, they will be 1-25. The Tide knows what to expect from the hurry-up Ole Miss offense. It won't take long for the Tide defense to adjust and the Rebels - like other opponents - will pay. It won't be a shutout, but it won't matter. UA goes to its off-week with a 5-0 record.

Aaron Suttles
Alabama 35,
Ole Miss 14

Eddie Lacy has his biggest game to date with a rushing performance that overwhelms the Ole Miss defense. The Crimson Tide defenders shut down the Rebels' offense on its way to another stellar defensive outing.
