September 13, 2012 The University of Alabama has a couple of commitments at the position in Tyren Jones, four-star from Walton High School in Marietta, Ga., and Altee Tenpenny, Rivals100 member from North Little Rock High School in Ark. Derrick Henry, Rivals100 athlete from Yulee High School in Fla., will announce his decision September 27. Alvin Kamara, four-star from Norcross High School in Ga., received 100 letters from the Tide in one day which made national news. Bo Scarbrough, running back from Northridge High School in Tuscaloosa, announced his decision last Friday night for the Crimson Tide. TideSports.com was the first to learn the news even before the Alabama coaching staff. The No. 1 ranked team in the country is also looking at other running backs in the 2014 class who have Alabama high on their list. The competition is great for Alabama, and the Tide plays a lot more than one back in its system. Prospects have also watched two running backs go in the first round of the NFL draft in the past two years, a Heisman Trophy Winner and a Doak Walker Award Winner--both from the University of Alabama.
