September 26, 2011 Former St. Raymond and current Arizona star Kevin Parrom was the victim of a shooting while visiting his mother in New York.Parrom apparently was shot once in the leg. Arizona Athletic Director and head coach both gave statements on the shooting. "We are aware that Kevin Parrom went home this weekend to visit his mother, who is in the hospital. While in New York City, he was the victim of a shooting. Rest assured, Kevin's well being is our primary concern," AD Greg Byrne. Head Coach Sean Miller added, ""I have been in contact with Kevin and his family throughout the weekend and look forward to his return to Tucson and being back in class this week. Our focus is on Kevin's health right now. Once we have more information, we'll be able to address his potential return to team activities." Sources close to the situation state that the shooter has been identified and that Parrom is walking and expected to return to school next week.  |
