Alabama drops opener to Oklahoma
DALLAS | Seven minutes into the season, Alabama seemed to have everything figured out.
As it turned out, the only thing the Crimson Tide men's basketball team knew for sure after Friday's disappointing 82-73 loss to Oklahoma in the season-opening Buckets and Boots Showcase is it has a lot of work to do.
"It was a great learning experience for us," UA coach Anthony Grant said. "That's two games we've really been hurt - our exhibition and tonight - with second shots on the glass. We've preached the importance of transition defense and taking care of the basketball. This is a tough lesson to suffer a loss the first game of the season, but those are areas where we're going to have to be a lot better if we're going to accomplish the things we want to accomplish."
