Lasco already drawing attention of colleges
The Woodlands (TX) running back Daniel Lasco has been a known commodity since being promoted to varsity for the playoffs as a freshman and rushing for over 200 yards against the city of Houston-area's best defense in Spring Westfield. This past season, though, the role of every-down back was all his.
As a sophomore in 2008, Lasco rushed for 1,107 yards and 11 touchdowns, averaging 11 yards per carry. The junior tailback has made believers of colleges and, despite the fact that he still has two years of high school remaining, several have already shown interest.
"I've talked to a couple coaches and stuff like that, but not really anything serious," said the 6-foot-1, 190-pound Lasco. "I've talked to Miami, (Texas) A&M, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Texas and some other colleges.
"Miami's told me that they probably will (offer). Tennessee has said the same thing. I think that A&M was going to verbally offer me, but I'm still not all sure about that. That's what I've heard."
