Tuesday practice report
Chase Goodbread
TideSports.com The Alabama football team continued preparations for its second Southeastern Conference road test at Georgia with a full-pad practice at the Thomas-Drew Practice Facility Tuesday. Here are some observations from the media viewing period from BamaOnLine.com.
*** Tight end Preston Dial was in a black non-contact jersey on Tuesday and working on a stationary bike. Dial has seen limited action this season as the fourth tight end in the playing rotation.
*** Linebacker Donta Hightower worked with the first nickel unit during recognition work Tuesday. Hightower has started all season and has usually stayed in the game in UA's oft-used nickel package.
*** Linebacker Prince Hall worked with the second nickel group in recognition work. Hall has played sparingly in two games since returning from a two-game suspension. Freshmen Mark Barron and Robby Green worked in the same group in the secondary.
*** Scout team update: Defensive end Milton Talbert wore jersey No.97, that of Georgia's Brandon Wood. ... Tight end Brad Smelley wore No.86, that of Bulldogs TE Tripp Chandler.
*** UA will return to the practice field Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
