Workout Insider: Will speed save the secondary?
If you go by speed and experience the Florida State secondary should be pretty good this season.
During Thursday's 40-yard dash testing, five defensive backs turned in times under 4.5 seconds. And that doesn't include track All-American Michael Ray Garvin who has consistently run the 40-yard dash at FSU in the 4.3 range. With so much speed at cornerback and safety it's hard to imagine too many opposing receivers getting open deep this season.
"If we just do our jobs and do what we have to do speed will take over and that might be to our advantage," said Patrick Robinson, who ran a team best 4.25 40-yard dash.
