Big Monday showdown

JayhawkSlant.com It's only the second conference game of the season, but two Big 12 heavyweights clash in Lawrence, Kan., Monday night as No. 3 Kansas (16-0, 1-0) plays host to Oklahoma (12-4, 0-1). The Jayhawks are coming off a 21-point defeat on the road over Nebraska, while the Sooners fell at home to a talented Kansas State squad. Both teams are loaded with talent and feature quality low-post play with stars like Darnell Jackson, Darrell Arthur, and OU's talented freshman, Blake Griffin. Monday's prime-time showdown will be nationally televised on ESPN starting at 8:00 p.m. from Allen Fieldhouse.
All it took was a mid-week challenge in front of media members for Brandon Rush to find his offensive swagger.
The star junior, who is by all accounts, back to form after off-season knee surgery, scored 19 points including five three-pointers in KU's win in Lincoln, Neb., Saturday.
