Tide lands four-star LB
The 2008 Alabama recruiting class to date is considered to be one of the best in the nation. But up to this point one of the areas of concern is linebacker where the Tide has yet to commit a pure linebacker. That changed Wednesday morning as Tennessee standout Don'ta Hightower chose Alabama at a press conference at Marshall County High School.
Hightower, 6-foot-3, 248-pounds, picked up offers from Auburn, Georgia Tech and Tennessee among others before narrowing his choices down to Alabama and Vanderbilt. He boasts a 315-pound bench press, 500 squat and 31-inch vertical jump to go with 4.7-40 speed.
The Volunteer state star becomes Alabama's 22nd commitment of the year and joins Barrett Jones as Tennessee natives who chose the Tide.
