UA lands Rivals250 WR
North Florida Christian wide receiver Melvin Ray is one of the nation's top deep threats and this week the Tallahassee native took his 6-foot-2, 191-pound frame to the Capstone for the Alabama camp. Ray, who previously had been leaning to Florida and FSU, didn't wait long after returning home to decide that Alabama was the school he wanted to attend.
"I told Coach Saban and Coach (Kirby) Smart today that I wanted to play for Alabama. I knew after the camp pretty much that I wanted to go there but I had to come home and think about it for a minute and then talk it over. I wanted to make sure it was the right decision," Ray said. "I think it is. I just felt at home with Alabama and the direction their program is going under Coach Saban is exciting. I know they are going to have a good team. They recruited me hard and showed me a lot of love when I was at camp. I got sick and didn't have my best day but they said they knew what I could do.
